Job summary

Ahern Hotel in Las Vegas is seeking a Bartender to join our team. You will prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintain bar standards, and ensure guest satisfaction. A minimum of three years in bar service is preferred; strong cash handling and POS skills are required.

Responsibilities include opening/closing checklists, knowledge of menu items and wines, and adherence to liquor laws. Part-time hours may apply with a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of minimum experience in field and bar service experience preferred.
• Must have a positive attitude with a good work ethic.
• Able to speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Cash handling experience.

• Maintain knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.
• Serve the guest in accordance with the departmental standards.
• Maintain knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, mixology recipes and non-alcoholic selections.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of state liquor laws, especially prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.
• Maintain knowledge of table/seat/station numbers and dress code.
• Complete the Closing Bartender Checklist.

The Ahern Hotel & Convention Center is seeking Bartenders to join our team!SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional service to all guests for any of our bars & lounge areas by preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage orders from guests and associates. The Bartender correctly prepares all standardized drinks using proper portions and ingredients. The Bartender prepares mixed drinks and provides appropriate garnish. The Bartender maintains cash and observes all sanitation requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSComplete the Opening Bartender Checklist.Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.Serve the guest in accordance with the departmental standards.Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, mixology recipes and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of each wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests at all times.Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor laws, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price range and dress code of assigned outlet.Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.Inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures.Complete the Closing Bartender Checklist.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment, maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, associates, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.Performs all other job-related duties as requestedREQUIRED EXPERIENCEThree (3) years of minimum experience in field and bar service experience preferred.Must have a positive attitude with a good work ethic.Able to speak with others using clear and professional language.Excellent customer service skills.Cash handling experience.Ability to operate a Point of Sales (POS) system.High School Diploma or equivalent.Must be able to obtain a Health Card from the Southern Nevada Health District, as well as an Alcohol Awareness Card.PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
