Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts in Houston is seeking a Beverage Server to manage daily bar setup, stock beverages, garnishes, and fresh juices. You will greet guests, take orders, mix and present drinks, and ensure accurate POS transactions.

You will balance cash, follow state, federal, and company policies, and remain flexible to perform other duties as assigned in a hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper and adequate set‑up of the bar on a daily basis. Requisitions and stocks beer, wine, spirits, paper products and garnishes.
• Maintains stock of fresh fruit and vegetables, garnishes, juices, and perishables daily to ensure quality.
• Greet guests, promote and document drink orders; mix and present drinks using standard recipes with portion control.
• Adheres to all state, federal, and corporate requirements for serving alcohol.
• Records orders at POS, creates checks for each guest to balance beverages served.
• Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, and balances bank and vouchers.
• Locks up and stores beverages and equipment, deposits cash drops as required.
• Adheres to attendance rules and is available to work regularly.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Maintains proper and adequate set‑up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
2. Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
3. Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
4. Abides by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
5. Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
6. Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all monies.
7. Locks up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
8. Complies with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
9. Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
