Description

Department: Food & Beverage - Front of House

Direct Report: Front of House Supervisor / Restaurant Manager

Purpose: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at Beach House Bar while delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining quality and consistency, and supporting a vibrant, welcoming coastal experience aligned with EOS Hospitality and Sanderling Resort standards.

The Sanderling Resort, located in Duck, North Carolina, is the premier oceanfront destination in the Outer Banks, offering refined coastal hospitality and memorable guest experiences.

Beach House Bar is a casual, coastal-driven outlet offering cocktails, beer, wine, coffee, and light fare in a relaxed, guest-focused environment. The outlet serves both resort guests and local visitors, providing a lively yet approachable atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the Outer Banks.

The Bartender plays a key role in creating memorable guest experiences through beverage execution, engagement, and efficient service.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
  • Provide friendly, engaging, and efficient service to all guests, creating a welcoming and energetic atmosphere
  • Interact with guests to provide recommendations, describe menu offerings, and enhance the overall experience
  • Take orders accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system and process transactions responsibly
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all beverage offerings including cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty drinks
  • Ensure consistency and quality of all beverages served
  • Monitor guest consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with all regulations
  • Set up and break down bar area, ensuring all equipment, glassware, and products are properly stocked and organized
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar, service areas, and guest-facing spaces
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to leadership
  • Assist with preparation and service of light food offerings when applicable
  • Support team members and assist other Food & Beverage outlets as needed based on operational demand
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and escalated issues to leadership when appropriate
  • Ensure proper handling of comps, voids, and discounts in accordance with company policies
  • Complete all opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
  • Comply with all safety standards including responsible alcohol service, sanitation practices, and workplace policies
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions
  • Comply with all policies outlined in the Handbook, Property Supplement, and company guidelines

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Ability to stand and remain active for up to 8-10 hours
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to use repetitive hand movements for beverage preparation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work will take place in a casual, guest-facing bar environment within a resort setting

  • Combination of independent work and team-based service

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Prior bartending experience required, preferably in a high-volume or resort environment
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage service standards
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support overall operations
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices
  • Successful completion of satisfactory background check
  • Available and willing to work flexible hours based on business needs
