Job description

You will create memorable experiences through the craft, confidence, and genuine hospitality that define exceptional beverage service. As a Bartender at Nemacolin, you will combine technical beverage expertise with an intuitive understanding of guests, creating a polished experience whether serving in a lively lounge, an intimate dining room, a high-volume outlet, or a special event. Your ability to anticipate needs, maintain command of your bar, and deliver consistent service under pressure will make you an essential part of the dining experience. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen your craft, broaden your hospitality expertise, and build a career across Nemacolin's diverse food and beverage operation.

What You Will Create
  • A memorable beverage experience by welcoming guests and members with genuine warmth, engaging confidently throughout service, and preparing cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages with the precision, consistency, and presentation expected of a luxury hospitality environment
  • A bar that operates with confidence and intention by beginning each shift prepared, maintaining appropriate levels of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, syrups, garnishes, glassware, and other supplies, and taking personal ownership of the space throughout service and during periods of downtime
  • Effortless service, even at the busiest moments, by balancing multiple guest requests, maintaining an organized workflow, prioritizing effectively, and remaining composed, attentive, and gracious when volume and expectations are high
  • A knowledgeable and personalized guest experience by maintaining current knowledge of beverage and food menus, allergens, spirits, beer, wine, cocktail techniques, and relevant industry trends, then using that knowledge to make thoughtful recommendations and answer guest questions with confidence
  • A culture of responsible and trustworthy service by protecting company assets, handling cash and point-of-sale transactions accurately, following established operating procedures, and maintaining RAMP certification and all applicable Pennsylvania requirements for responsible alcohol service
  • A bar environment that is consistently ready for the next guest through disciplined opening and closing practices, proper cleaning and sanitation, safe knife and equipment handling, accurate inventory practices, and careful attention to both guest-facing and Heart of House spaces
  • A stronger beverage program by contributing ideas for seasonal cocktails, participating in cocktail research and development when appropriate, supporting beverage costing, and remaining curious about evolving techniques, products, and industry trends
  • A connected and collaborative service team by supporting fellow bartenders and front-of-house associates, sharing knowledge, assisting where operational needs require, and contributing to a culture in which every team member takes responsibility for the overall guest experience
  • A foundation for continued growth in hospitality by developing technical expertise, guest relationship skills, operational discipline, and leadership habits that can open opportunities across Nemacolin's diverse dining and beverage operations
What You Can Expect
  • A dynamic beverage-service role with opportunities across Nemacolin's lounges, restaurants, eateries, catered events, and other food and beverage environments based on operational needs
  • A fast-paced setting where the ability to anticipate, prioritize, and maintain composure directly influences the guest experience
  • The opportunity to work with a diverse range of beverages, service styles, guest expectations, and dining concepts while continuing to refine your craft
  • A role that requires personal ownership of your bar, including preparation, organization, cleanliness, inventory awareness, and opening and closing responsibilities
  • Collaboration with bartenders, servers, culinary teams, hosts, leadership, and other associates to create a seamless dining experience
  • Opportunities to cross-train and broaden your front-of-house expertise, including exposure to banquet service and other dining operations as business needs allow
  • A schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and high-volume event periods in support of guest and member demand
  • An environment where demonstrated skill, reliability, initiative, and service excellence can create pathways toward greater responsibility and continued hospitality career growth
What You Bring
  • A genuine interest in beverage craft and the ability to create connections through thoughtful, confident service
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, cocktails, and beverage service, with curiosity about emerging products, techniques, and industry trends
  • The composure and judgment to maintain exceptional service during high-volume periods while balancing multiple guest needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills that create trust with guests and foster an effective partnership with the service team
  • Personal accountability and pride in maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and fully prepared bar, including taking initiative during downtime rather than waiting for direction
  • Professionalism and attention to detail in guest interaction, cash handling, responsible alcohol service, personal presentation, and adherence to established standards
  • A team-oriented mindset with the flexibility to support different Front of House environments and contribute wherever the operation needs you
  • The initiative and willingness to learn that can support continued development, expanded responsibilities, and a long-term career in hospitality
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous bartending or comparable hospitality experience preferred; experience in a fast-paced or formal restaurant, high-volume event, catering, or hotel environment is valued
  • Demonstrated bartending skills and working knowledge of liquor, beer, wine, cocktails, and beverage service
  • Ability to obtain and maintain RAMP certification and comply with applicable Pennsylvania requirements for responsible alcohol service
  • Ability to operate touchscreen point-of-sale systems and perform basic mathematical functions accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and remain on your feet or actively moving for extended periods
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and high-volume event periods
  • Valid driver's license required for positions or assignments where operational duties necessitate driving
