Description
Job Summary
The Heavy Seas Taproom is currently seeking a new part-time bartender with passion and enthusiasm for craft beer who possesses great customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. As a Brewery/Taproom Bartender, you'll be the face of our taproom, responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Must be available evenings and weekends with some Saturday and Sunday shifts required.

Pay: $7.75/hour + tips
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Beer Service: Pour and serve a variety of craft beers, including our flagship and seasonal brews, while adhering to all responsible serving guidelines
- Retail maintenance: maintain a clean, tidy and presentable retail environment for our packaged beers and merchandise; Monitor inventory levels, restock beer, supplies, and merchandise as needed, and notify the manager of any shortages
- Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware, sanitizing surfaces, and following all health and safety protocols; Maintain a clean bar, taproom, game room, private party room, outdoor seating area, and restrooms
- Customer Engagement: Greet guests with a warm and welcoming attitude, answer questions about our beers, brewing process, and events, and make recommendations based on customer preferences
- Education: Educate customers on the different styles of beer we offer, including taste profiles, ABV, and the brewing process
- Point of Sale: Accurately handle cash and card transactions, process payments, and record transaction details (such as customer name for rewards accounts, or employees for allotments) in Square, following company SOPs
- Recordkeeping and Cash Handling: Balance the cash register at the end of your shift
- Team Collaboration & Event Support: Work closely with other bartenders, event staff, marketing, and management to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive guest experience for events, both public and private
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Beer Knowledge: A strong interest in and knowledge of craft beer
- Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to Detail: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain composure in a busy environment while ensuring accuracy
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift kegs (up to 50 lbs), and move quickly to keep up with the pace of the taproom
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the taproom’s hours of operation
- Team Player: A positive attitude and the ability to work well within a team
Credentials and Experience:
- Experience: Previous bartending or serving experience required
- Certification: TAMS / ServSafe or similar current certification a plus, cicerone or similar a huge plus
