Job summary

AC Hotel Austin Hill Country is seeking a skilled bartender to join our team at Violet Sky Rooftop Lounge. You will craft cocktails and manage bar service in a fast-paced, upscale hotel setting.

The ideal candidate has strong mixology knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for guest experiences. Prior hotel or upscale lounge experience is preferred, with required certifications such as TABC/ServSafe.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or upscale lounge setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of drink recipes and mixology techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and hold required certifications (e.g., TABC, ServSafe).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages per recipes and presentation standards.
• Engage with guests professionally, make recommendations and ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
• Monitor and enforce responsible alcohol service in line with local laws and hotel policies.
• Handle cash and credit transactions using the POS system.
• Restock bar inventory, garnishes, mixers and spirits as needed.
• Collaborate with restaurant and lounge staff to ensure seamless service.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures for food and beverages.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down the bar, including opening/closing duties.
• Participate in training and stay updated on new menu items and promotions.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and personable bartender to join our team at the AC Hotel Austin Hill Country and Violet Sky Rooftop Lounge. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, knowledgeable in mixology, and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced, upscale environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations and ensuring satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including glassware, tools, and supplies.
• Monitor guest behavior and ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with local laws and hotel policies.
• Handle cash and credit transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Restock bar inventory and supplies as needed, including garnishes, mixers, and spirits.
• Collaborate with restaurant and lounge staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling of food and beverages.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down the bar for service, including opening and closing duties.
• Participate in training sessions and stay updated on new menu items, promotions, and hotel offerings.

Qualifications:

• Previous bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant, or upscale lounge preferred.
• Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixology techniques, and beverage trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and possess any required certifications (e.g., TABC, ServSafe).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Perform repetitive motions such as shaking, stirring, and pouring.
