YMCA of Metropolitan Washington invites applications for a Group Exercise Instructor at our Silver Spring, MD location. You will lead dynamic group fitness classes, ensure safe technique, and motivate participants across varying abilities.

The role requires current CPR/AED, a recognized group fitness certificate, and flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends. You will promote YMCA programs while maintaining logs and attending workshops.

Qualifications

• CPR and AED certification required.
• Nationally recognized group exercise certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM).
• Specialty certifications (Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Spin, etc.) preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Responsabilités

• Lead safe, engaging group exercise classes.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and form.
• Provide individual feedback and class modifications.
• Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes.
• Maintain attendance records and class logs.
• Set up and break down equipment before and after classes.
• Follow emergency procedures and YMCA guidelines.
• Attend staff trainings and instructor workshops.
• Arrange substitutes when needed in advance.
• Promote YMCA programs and events to members.
