Job summary

YMCA at Clarksville is seeking a Barre Instructor to lead engaging, safe group classes and help members reach wellbeing goals. This part-time role emphasizes energy, fun, and building a welcoming atmosphere within a supportive team.

You’ll need teaching experience and possibly a specialty certification; CPR/First Aid within 30 days is provided by YMCA upon hire. Compensation starts at $14 per hour, with pay depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience is preferred; less than 1 year acceptable.
• Specialty certification preferred (Cycling, Zumba, Les Mills); yoga or Pilates instructors require 20+ training hours.
• Excellent communication and a passion for fitness.

Position Type: Part-time

Do you love leading group fitness classes and inspiring others to crush their wellness goals? We’re looking for a Barre Instructor to join our amazing team! You’ll have the opportunity to bring energy and fun to every class while making a real impact.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll lead high-quality group fitness classes that are fun, safe, and educational, helping our members feel supported on their fitness journeys. From maintaining a clean and organized workout space to building relationships with members, your work will create a welcoming environment for all. Plus, you’ll be part of a supportive team where collaboration and growth are encouraged!

What You’ll Need:

• Teaching experience (less than 1 year is okay!)
• Specialty certification preferred (Cycling, Zumba, Les Mills, etc.); yoga or Pilates instructors need 20+ training hours.
• A passion for fitness and great communication skills

Certifications Required:

• Before start of 1st class: New Hire Orientation training
• Before start of 1st class: One of the following:
• Group Exercise Primary Certification (ACE, AFAA, ISSA, etc.)
• YMCA Group Fitness Instructor Certification provided by the Y upon hire (Principles of Member Health and Wellness, Foundations of Group Exercise at the Y)
• Within 30 days of hire: CPR Pro/First Aid/AED (we pay for these)
