Job summary

Barminco is seeking an experienced Underground Shift Supervisor for our USA operations in Elko, Nevada. The role involves leading shift crews, managing equipment and ensuring safe, productive underground mining execution on a 6 weeks on, 3 weeks off roster.

Candidate(s) should have at least 5 years in underground shift supervision, hold an Underground Shift Supervisors Ticket, demonstrate strong leadership and safety practices, and possess a valid driver’s license for site access and mobility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in an Underground Shift Supervisors role.
• Have a current Underground Shift Supervisors Ticket.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
• Current Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of shift workers and equipment at an underground mine site.
• Ensure all workers on shift are trained and competent to perform duties safely and productively.
• Train National Supervisors and workforce to a high standard.
• Ensure mining operations are conducted safely and any safety issues are reported to the Underground Manager.
• Ensure targets are met and daily work planning is executed.
• Manage, control and supervise working areas in line with Acts and Regulations.
• Oversee duty of care to employees, sub-contractors and visitors.
• Organise crews, rosters and site daily operations.
• Lead daily toolbox and work planning meetings.
• Submit incident reports to the Site Manager in writing.
• Carry out crew training, assessments and employee development reviews.

Due to being awarded a new project in Elko, Nevada, USA we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Shift Supervisors to join us in our USA Operations on a 6 week on, 3 weeks off roster.

This key position will provide an excellent opportunity to further develop your career and work alongside experienced Underground Mining professionals in a safe, dynamic and outcome focused environment. You will also be capable of leading and training national supervisors to a high level of proficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To oversee the day-to-day operation of shift workers and equipment usage at an underground mine site
• To ensure all workers on shift are trained and competent to perform their duties safely and productively at all times.
• Training of National Supervisors and workforce to a high standard
• Ensure mining operations are conducted in a safe manner and any safety issues are promptly reported to the Underground Manager
• Ensure targets are met.
• Perform the daily management, control, and supervision of the working areas in accordance with all relevant Acts and Regulations
• Oversee the mines interest with regard to duty of care to all employees, sub-contractors, and visitors.
• Organise crews, rosters and day to day running of that particular site.
• Conduct daily work planning meetings / toolbox meetings.
• Submit incident reports in writing to the Site Manager
• Carry out crew training, practical assessments and review each employee's development, mentoring and performance.

Skills, Experience & Attributes:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in an Underground Shift Supervisors role
• Have a current Underground Shift Supervisors Ticket
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
