Job summary

FareStart in Seattle, WA is seeking a Barista to operate daily café functions, prepare foods and beverages, and train students on barista skills. This full-time, non-exempt position requires strong customer service, accuracy on POS, and adherence to food safety standards.

The role involves cash handling, cleaning, inventory, and ongoing training for students, with shifts 6:30am-3pm or 7am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Experience as a barista and food service is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 1 year of food service and 1 year of barista experience.
• Valid King County Food Handler’s Permit.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and take orders for beverages and food.
• Ring in orders accurately on POS and on cups/bags.
• Prepare foods and beverages including coffee, tea, espresso-based drinks, sandwiches and baked items.
• Clean and restock work and dining areas, dispose of trash, sanitize equipment.
• Provide on-the-job barista training and support for students.
