Responsibilities
- Provide beverages, whole beans, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients, or substituted ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and products as needed.
- Communicate information to the manager to ensure the team can respond appropriately and create the Third Place environment during each shift.
- Deliver quality customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and connecting with customers to discover and respond to their needs.
- Follow Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including cash handling and safety/security protocols.
- Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments using organizational methods.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Engage with and understand customers through clear and pleasant communication.
- Perform various tasks within the store during each shift.
- Maintain high sanitation standards for all equipment, adhering to department policies, Health Department codes, and J.C.A.H.O. regulations.
- Contribute to a positive working environment and promote teamwork by taking initiative to improve quality and exceed customer expectations, maintaining clear communication and constructive relationships with colleagues and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and 6 months of food service experience; 6 months of Barista experience preferred.
- Starbucks Barista Trainer Certification required within 6 months of hire.
- ServSafe Certification; MA Allergen Training or AllerTrain Manager Certification preferred.
- Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks culture, values, and mission.
- Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to ensure store operations and set a positive example.
- Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
- Excellent customer service skills, including effective communication, greeting visitors, explaining policies, and relaying messages.
- Courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Availability to work rotating weekends, mornings, and evenings, part-time (32 hours).
