Job summary

Hometown Coffee & Juice is seeking a friendly and skilled barista to deliver exceptional drinks in a fast-paced setting. You will craft and maintain quality beverages, train teammates, and ensure a clean, efficient workstation throughout each shift.

The role emphasizes hospitality, attention to detail, and teamwork, with opportunities to grow barista know‑how while helping customers enjoy a standout coffee experience.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or coffee experience preferred, but we are happy to train the right person.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and safe food handling (ServSafe is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistent, excellent drinks and coach the team to do the same.
• Maintain standardized recipes to meet quality, taste, texture, and appearance standards.
• Dial in espresso and steam milk regularly for balanced, well‑extracted drinks.
• Manage peak times calmly and efficiently, ensuring smooth workflow.
• Lead by example in maintaining an organized station and keeping the line moving under pressure.
• Act as secondary cashier during rushes, ensuring service speed without compromising quality.
• Master drink preparation, ensuring high quality and consistency.
• Teach and model the café culture, inspiring skill development in teammates.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain machines for optimal performance.
• Maintain a spotless, organized station, leading by example.
• Ensure proper sanitation during shifts, cleaning machines and surfaces as needed.
• Anticipate customer needs and provide top‑tier service.
