Barista

As a Barista at Smith Tower and Caffe Vita, you will craft exceptional coffee beverages while delivering warm, engaging service that creates memorable guest experiences. In our unique space, you'll also have the opportunity to elevate the guest offering with our afternoon beer, wine, and artisanal menu items, ensuring Smith Tower and Caffe Vita becomes a beloved destination for nearby business workers and visitors alike.

What’s you’ll do:

THE BRASS TACKS

  • Provides exemplary guest services in the cafe with a magnetic personality to ensure a positive coffee, food, and wine/beer experience
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages including coffee, tea, specialty drinks, beer, and wine while upholding brand standards
  • Ensures eloquent and attractive food and beverage presentation
  • Describe menu options and be knowledgeable about beverage products to make appropriate recommendations to guests
  • Ability to use a point-of-sale system to ring up all orders and to execute online orders
  • Maintains cleanliness in and around the café area
  • Provides a positive and team centric work environment
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures
  • Adheres to established safety and quality standards daily through city, county, and state health guidelines and standards
  • Administers state liquor laws and ensuring all laws, regulations, and standards are being adhered to
  • Other duties as assigned by management

THE NITTY GRITTY

  • Previous barista experience in a similar environment strongly preferred
  • Able to perform essential functions on a computerized Point of Sale System
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell
  • Required valid WA State Food Handler’s Permit and MAST Permit and understanding all applicable liquor laws and regulations
  • The ability to communicate independently, clearly, and effectively
  • Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift (25+) Pounds
  • Basic math skills required
