Job summary

ALFRED is seeking a Part-Time Barista at our Melrose Place flagship location to deliver exceptional guest experiences through hospitality, quality beverages, and efficient café operations.

The role involves preparing coffee, tea, and food to Alfred standards, maintaining a clean, stocked café, and collaborating with teammates to meet high-volume demands while upholding safety and service excellence. You’ll engage customers, support mobile ordering, and participate in trainings.

Qualifications

• Previous cafe, coffee, or restaurant experience is preferred, but not required.
• Passion for hospitality and creating positive customer experiences in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting while working efficiently under pressure.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn and grow.
• Flexibility to attend quarterly team meetings, trainings, or company events outside regular shifts.
• Maintain reliable attendance and consistent availability, including a minimum commitment of three shifts per week.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with warmth and hospitality while delivering an elevated customer experience.
• Guide customers through beverage and food offerings, answer questions, and build rapport.
• Handle phone inquiries, accurately process orders, and support mobile ordering operations.
• Maintain a calm, professional, and welcoming presence during high-volume periods.
• Prepare high-quality beverages and food items in accordance with Alfred recipes and standards.
• Operate and maintain coffee equipment; keep prep areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Foster a positive team environment through active listening and clear communication.
• Partner with leadership to address operational needs and maintain consistency across shifts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked café environment throughout each shift.
• Assist with inventory, restocking, deliveries, and café upkeep.
• Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.
• Perform additional tasks to meet company goals.
