Job summary

Revolution Roasters in Oceanside, CA is seeking a part-time Barista to craft high-quality beverages and deliver exceptional guest service in a fast-paced cafe. You will dial in espresso, follow recipes, maintain a clean, organized counter, and engage guests with menu knowledge and thoughtful recommendations.

This role requires early morning and evening availability; weekends and holidays. Collaboration with FOH and kitchen teams, competitive tips, staff discounts, and advancement opportunities

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of specialty coffee or hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience with espresso preparation and dialing in preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in beverage execution.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all espresso, coffee, and specialty beverages with consistency and attention to detail.
• Dial in espresso and maintain coffee quality standards throughout each shift.
• Follow all recipes & build drinks to spec, ensuring balance and presentation align with standards.
• Provide a thoughtfully welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable experience for every guest.
• Engage with guests to understand preferences and guide them through the menu.
• Resolve guest concerns with care, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Maintain strong knowledge of mainstay menu items, including ingredients, build, & flavor profiles.
• Learn & confidently execute seasonal menu offerings, including beverages, pastries, & food items.
• Attend quarterly seasonal rollout meetings, and proactively stay up to date on menu changes, product launches, and recipe updates.
• Communicate menu items clearly to guests, including answering questions and offering thoughtful recommendations, speak to house-made components and how they impact flavor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar at all times.
• Follow all cleaning checklists and food safety standards.
• Support overall cafe cleanliness, including lobby, restrooms, and shared spaces.
• Work collaboratively with team members across FOH, kitchen, and commissary.
• Communicate clearly during service to ensure smooth operations.
• Support teammates during busy periods and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Follow opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures accurately.
• Maintain awareness of product levels and communicate restocking needs.
• Uphold all company policies, systems, and standards of service.
• Beverage Quality & Consistency – Consistently execute all beverages to company standards, maintaining accuracy in recipes, dial-ins, and presentation across every shift.
• Guest Experience & Hospitality – Deliver a warm, attentive, and knowledgeable experience that creates positive guest interactions, builds loyalty, and reflects our brand standards.
• Menu Knowledge & Execution – Demonstrate strong understanding and accurate execution of all mainstay and seasonal menu items, including the ability to confidently communicate and recommend offerings to guests.
• Speed & Efficiency of Service – Maintain strong pace and workflow during all levels of business, contributing to smooth operations and minimizing wait times without sacrificing quality.
• Cleanliness, Organization & Standards – Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and well-stocked bar and cafe environment, following all cleaning systems and food safety standards.
• Team Contribution & Communication – Work collaboratively with the team, communicate clearly during service, and actively support a positive, accountable, and high-performing work environment.
