Prepares and serves custom craft coffee, tea, wine and beer in a lounge venue. Responsible for serving beverage items by following recipes and the portion control guidelines set by the leadership team. Responsible for setting up station and restocking items. Responsible for organizing, sanitize, and clean the bar, storage areas, and coolers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Greeting guests as they enter
- Providing guests with drink menus and answering their questions regarding ingredients
- Taking orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
- Prepare beverages following recipes
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
- Keeping the bar area, work environment, and cafe seating area clean, sanitary and organized
- Maintain stock of clean mugs, cups, and plates
- Tracking and ordering inventory for cafe and beverage supplies, such as coffee beans, milk, napkins and cups
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
- Responding to and resolving customer concerns or complaints
- Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service.
- Attracting new customers and refining the menu.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21+ to serve alcohol
- 1+ year previous work experience as a Barista and/or bartender
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math skills
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
- Excellent listening and communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers and customers
- Familiarity with basic wine and beer knowledge
- Basic coffee knowledge, such as how to prepare common coffee beverages, although advanced knowledge, such as roasting and grinding processes, coffee beansourcing and flavor differences, can be helpful
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to interact in a positive manner and prevent or resolve conflicts
- Strong teamwork abilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with other Baristas
- Attention to detail to manage specific customer requests as well as a high-volume beverage assembly line with minimal errors
- Time management and organizational skills to work efficiently and effectively in a high-volume workplace
- Familiarity with alternative milks, manual brew methods (pour-over, French Press, etc.), and seasonal drink menus is a plus
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Food Handlers Certification and Responsible Beverage Service certification upon hire.
- Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and other departments.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, use hands for repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Must be able to frequently use hands for repetitive tasks such as operating espresso machines, handling glassware, and Point of Sales systems.
- Must be able to frequently bend, reach, twisting, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Visual acuity to ensure presentation standards (ex. Drink aesthetics, wine clarity, etc.) are consistently met
- Must be able to periodically work in a warm to hot environment.
- Must be able to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment including during high guest volume.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This work environment can be very fast paced with acute attention to detail. Must be able to maintain a high level of sanitation/cleanliness in area as well as equipment, required to work in a smoke-filled environment and is required to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and special events as needed.
