Job Title: Barista

• Location: Rutgers - Newark Board Plan - 350 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Newark, NJ 07102. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time; days and hours may vary. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: Prior barista experience preferred.
• Pay Rate: $15.49 per hour.

Job Summary

Makes and serves coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items. Handles food according to HACCP standards. Interacts with customers and team members in a friendly, courteous manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares espresso orders using standard measures and recipes.
• Accurately enters orders into POS; accepts payments.
• Maintains cleanliness and replenishes supplies.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment and work area.
• Follows recipes and production standards for food preparation.
• Ensures display and serving areas are attractive and clean.
• Greets customers courteously and provides menu information.
• Serves customers efficiently and effectively.
• Supports sales techniques and customer engagement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
