Job summary

The Lofton Hotel in downtown Minneapolis is seeking a Barista for Mezzo Mezzo, our all-day restaurant built by a hospitality-driven team. You will prepare Spyhouse Coffee beverages to brand standards, provide warm, professional service to guests, and operate espresso machines and POS systems.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of coffee and specialty coffee drinks.
• Basic math skills for operating a cash register, making change, and calculating totals.
• Ability to multi-task and self-motivate.
• Basic English writing skills for requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to handle garnishes, glassware, ice, and stock.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests.
• Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve Spyhouse Coffee beverages to brand standards.
• Deliver warm, professional service to hotel guests and local customers.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders and POS systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café and workstations.
• Restock supplies and assist with opening/closing procedures.
• Answer guest questions about menu items and coffee offerings.
• Uphold hotel service standards and food safety guidelines.
