Job summary

Rook Coffee Roasters in New Jersey is seeking energetic team members to brew coffee, prepare pastries, and provide exceptional customer service. You will be part of a friendly, fast-paced shop focused on Quality, Simplicity and Experience.

Ideal candidates have 3+ months barista or retail customer service experience, weekend availability, and a positive, reliable attitude. The role includes lifting up to 45 lbs and standing for long periods. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience as a Barista or in a fast-paced restaurant or retail customer service role.
• Weekend availability is required.
• Possesses a friendly and genuine personality.
• Ability to lift/move up to 45 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Brew coffee and cold brew beverages following recipes and quality standards.
• Handle and prepare pastries and other food items.
• Maintain a neat and orderly workspace and store environment.
• Maintain high standards for food and workplace safety.
• Create a welcoming and fair work environment for customers and coworkers.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and build relationships with customers using the GRINDS service model.
• Serve as point-of-contact (POC) when the store manager is absent, including opening/closing tasks, cash handling, and conflict resolution.
