Job summary

SpartanNash in Niles, MI is seeking a part-time Barista to prepare coffee beverages and food, operate the cash register, and deliver courteous service in a busy store setting.

You’ll stock items, maintain cleanliness, follow safety and sanitation guidelines, and assist customers with store programs and promotions. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; one year of retail or related experience helps, along with solid verbal communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee shop beverages; brew, mix and/or blend beverages according to set standards.
• Prepare food items according to procedures.
• Operate cash register to itemize customer purchases and process payments.
• Stock items and rotate Coffee items and merchandise displays.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the department; follow sanitation procedures.
• Assist customers with loyalty programs, promotions and store guidelines.
