Job summary

River City Casino & Hotel in Missouri is seeking a Barista to join our on-site cafe team. You will craft quality beverages, educate guests on our premium coffees, and provide outstanding guest service in a fast-paced setting. The role requires strong cash handling, basic math, and excellent communication skills.

Prior Starbucks or cafe experience is a plus. Shift is 6am-2:30pm; starting pay is $10.15 per hour plus tips, with benefits beginning day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cash handling experience a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, write, speak).
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all matters.
• Food & beverage experience preferred.
• Basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
• Starbucks/barista experience is an asset.
• Energetic, proactive, and professional demeanor.
• Flexible shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service while making quality beverages.
• Educate guests about coffees, teas, gelatos, and menu items.
• Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following recipes.
• Operate POS system and handle payments accurately.
• Deliver guest orders and ensure timely service.
• Maintain guest satisfaction and address complaints as needed.
• Keep equipment clean and in good working order; maintain supplies.
• Ensure display and dining area are clean and stocked.
• Assist with other related duties as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in all company matters.
