Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Coffee Shop Barista to greet customers, craft beverages, and keep the shop stocked and spotless. You will ensure every customer leaves with what they came for and a smile.

The role requires excellent customer service, ability to work in a fast-paced setting, and pride in doing things well. Training is provided, with wage starting between $13.50 and $16.80 hourly depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence.
• Use basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
• Communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way.
• Stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy coffee shop environment.
• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and learn their names to personalize service.
• Take orders at the counter and by phone; assist with finding products and answering questions.
• Prepare and replenish coffee shop products as needed throughout shift.
• Monitor product freshness and appearance and follow production lists to meet daily needs.
• Handle food safely and keep work area clean and compliant with department standards.
• Operate the department register and process payments where applicable.
• Maintain a tidy department and assist teammates to ensure a positive customer experience.
