Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a friendly Barista to join our campus dining team. You will prepare and serve coffee and pastries, follow recipes, and handle cash register operations while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

The role requires prior food service experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a customer-focused approach. Training on HACCP and Taleo compliance will be provided, with opportunities for growth within a premier medical center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in Food Service Operation.
• Previous Barista experience.
• Cash Register experience.

Responsibilities

• Completes and maintains all job performance requirements as per employee handbook.
• Promotes sales by educating customers and explaining the drink menu.
• Sets up and operates the cash register, handling cash accurately.
• Prepares coffee drinks following standard recipes and techniques.
• Maintains equipment and supplies, and performs preventive maintenance.
• Ensures sanitation and safe work environment according to HACCP guidelines.
• Attends required trainings and meetings and completes Taleo within the allotted timeframe.
• Reports issues to supervisor and maintains professional demeanor.
