Job summary

Barnes & Noble bookstore in Altoona is seeking a Barista to join the café team. You will welcome customers, prepare beverages and cafe items, and help keep the café area clean and inviting. You’ll also handle registers and assist with stock and deliveries to support smooth cafe operations.

As experience grows, you’ll develop barista skills, contribute to merchandising, and assist the bookfloor team when needed. High standards of service and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with beverages, bakery items and cafe offerings.
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions efficiently.
• Unpack deliveries and stock the bakery case and dining area.
• Maintain café presentation and cleanliness throughout shifts.
• Support the bookfloor team when needed and follow FIFO and safety procedures.
