Job summary

MGM Resorts is hiring a Barista for Starbucks and other cafes across Las Vegas properties. You will set the stage for guest experiences with a welcoming smile and expert service, creating WOW memories during their stay. The role begins as Part-Time/On-Call with a starting hourly rate plus tips.

Responsibilities include order-taking, cash handling, cleanliness, and replenishment, while delivering high-volume guest service and hospitality with a team-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Open availability as Part-Time/On-Call for some properties.
• One year of experience as a Food Handler in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant preferred.
• Previous experience as a Barista for Starbucks or a similar cafe environment preferred.
• One year of guest service experience preferred.

• Take and place orders, and serve and garnish food and drinks efficiently and accurately in the work area.
• Collect money while following cash handling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of front and back of house; clear tables and counters.
• Pack and complete orders per guests' preferences with condiments.
• Label and date products per safety procedures.
• Perform opening/closing duties as assigned.
• Stock and replenish products; organize work station and storage.

THE STARTING RATE:

$15.2511+, Hourly + Tips

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Take and place order, and serve and garnish food and drinks efficiently and accurately in work area as applicable
• Collect money, while following all proper cash handling and comp procedures
• Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and the appearance of the front and back of house, clear tables and counters; sweep and maintain the cleanliness of the dining area without interfering with the comfort of guests
• Pack and complete order as per guests' preference with any necessary condiments
• Properly label and date products per safety and sanitation procedures
• Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment
• Unload warehouse orders and stock the orders to designated storage maintaining organization, stock and replenish products as needed in work station, counters, tables, etc.
• Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Open availability as this position begins as Part-Time/On-Call for some properties
• One year of experience as a Food Handler in a similar, high-volume, fast paced restaurant preferred
• Previous experience as a Barista for Starbucks or a Similar cafe environment preferred
• One year of guest service experience preferred
