Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position.
  • Minimum six (6) months of customer service experience.
  • Must possess a Washington State Food Handlers Permit and a Washington State Liquor License.
  • Must be able to operate and clean beverage dispensers and follow instructions.
  • Must be 18 years or older and able to obtain a Washington State Class II Gaming License; pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves hot or cold beverages (coffee, espresso drinks, teas).
  • Takes customer drink orders promptly and accurately.
  • Checks ID and collects signatures for all card transactions.
  • Keeps receipts organized and maintains product displays.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position will be proficient in mixing, pouring, and serving coffee and other associated non-alcoholic beverages. Must ensure pours/ measurements are accurate and abide by standard beverage recipes. This position requires quick and accurate cash/credit transactions and balance receipts. This isa fast-paced position with continual customer contact.

The Barista is proficient in multiple outlets of F&B and may/will be expected to work in multiple locations. This position may serve as a dual rated position and may/will be assigned multiple positions within the F&B department such as Server, Busser, Cashier, and Host.

This position ensures the confidentiality, security, and accuracy of guest’s records, and promotes positive guest and team member relations.Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and outstanding guest service to fellow team members, guests, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, and on occasion, later hours or weekend time may be required with project deadlines and a neat well-groomed professional appearance is essential at all times.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions of the Barista include but not limited to:

  • Prepares and serves hot or cold beverages, (coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, and teas).
  • Takes customer drink orders promptly and accurately.
  • Checks ID and collects signatures for all card transactions.
  • Keeps receipts organized.
  • Is courteous, friendly, and helpful to our Guests and other team members.
  • Assists other team members when necessary.
  • Prepares menu items, (sandwiches, muffins, breads, bagels, parfaits, and fruit boxes).
  • Wraps, labels, and dates food consistent with dept. and food handling standards.
  • Maintains and stocks supplies.
  • Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, utensils, equipment, service, and seating areas.
  • Takes out garbage.
  • Sets up and restocks product displays.
  • Maintains high food safety and health standards.
  • Current on upcoming Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel Events.
  • Abides by Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel standard beverage recipes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position.

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of six (6) months customer service experience required. Must have State and County sanitation procedures knowledge and will be required to possess a current Washington State Food Handlers Permit and a Washington State Liquor License. Must be able to operate and clean various beverage dispensers and be able to understand and follow directions.

Must be a minimum of 18 years old and have the ability to obtain and retain a Washington State Class II Gaming License; successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

This position requires footwear with non-skid, slip resistant soles that will enable the team member to navigate a kitchen environment safely on floor surfaces commonly found in restaurants (i.e., smooth, wet, and greasy restaurant quarry tile).

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle; feel; or grip objects, stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. This person may regularly lift and/or move up to 30+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust to focus.

ENVIRONMENT:

The environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of the position.

Primarily indoors and may be exposed to heavy smoke and fluctuations in temperature while in and around the Casino and/or Hotel. May be exposed to continuous exposure to water, heat, and may from time-to-time exposed to noise from slot machines, customers, music and public announcement system, as is common in a Casino and/or Hotel environment.
