Qualifications

  • Must be a person of high integrity, a strong work ethic, dependable, responsible, and self‑motivated.
  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • Demonstration of passion and enthusiasm for coffee.
  • Customer service that is executed in a personal and professional manner.
  • Understanding of coffee shops and specialty retail.
  • Desire to educate others about coffee and espresso methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and respect for cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Enthusiasm for the task of ensuring that each customer and visitor has a quality experience in our shop.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers and visitors with a friendly smile.
  • Provide friendly, efficient, and personal service to each customer and visitor.
  • Create a rapport with customers by learning their names and favorite drinks.
  • Educate customers on all our products and services.
  • Maintain high quality and consistent product standards.
  • Strive for the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Accurately process transactions in the POS system.
  • Cup and taste coffee regularly to maintain familiarity with product and quality standards.
  • Dial‑in espresso equipment in accordance with quality standards and directives.
  • Stay informed of new coffee availability and attributes.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming shop for all guests and fellow employees.
  • Communicate with team members and management to solve problems and improve service.
  • Support a positive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by shop manager and supervisors.
  • Responsible for coffee carts for meetings and events and their removal and clean up.
  • Maintain and keep in working order all equipment needed to perform your duties and materials in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, safe operation of equipment and machinery, and safety when using chemicals and agents.
  • Responsible for laundering rags, mops, heads, etc., as needed.
  • Report any repairs or maintenance needs on the daily sheets or to the Support Coordinator on a timely basis.

POSITION SCHEDULE: Days and hours vary according to Coffee Shop need, but not exceed 25-29 hrs./wk.
