Responsibilities

As our Barista, you will interact daily with patients, families, visitors, and staff. You understand that most guests at our facility dine with us for a reason, and take great pride in giving them one less thing to worry about. You will actively participate in and support all facets of healthcare foodservice operations, collaborating with facility staff to ensure optimal nutritional care and consistently delivering exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and team members.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, and guidelines, including proper monitoring and maintenance of food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage. Follow procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with personal hygiene standards. Maintain accurate labeling of food products and ensure proper storage of food, equipment, and machinery in accordance with regulatory and facility guidelines.
• Prepare and serve meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines, using appropriate kitchen equipment and utensils. Maintain thorough knowledge of recipe ingredients to address food allergy inquiries and dietary requests.
• Adhere to organizational standards to deliver a high-quality patient and customer experience, ensuring accurate meal portioning and appealing presentation.
• May include one or more of the following:
  • Customer Service & Sales: Serving customers in a coffee shop or retail food area, operating a cash register, handling payments.
  • Food Preparation & Delivery: Assembling, delivering, and retrieving patient trays; preparing cold food items; supporting catering services.
  • Sanitation & Maintenance: Dishwashing, cleaning equipment, maintaining work areas, ensuring sanitation standards.
  • Inventory & Stocking: Stocking food and supplies, assisting with inventory checks and restocking.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• One (1) year of food service experience.
• A Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of hire.

Preferred:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
