Job summary

Lev Restaurant Group, operating The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at The Venetian in Las Vegas, is seeking a Barista for a part-time position. You will serve premium coffees and teas with friendly, personalized attention and educate customers on our offerings while following SOPs.

Responsibilities include taking orders, handling the POS, stocking, cleaning, and ensuring safety and quality standards. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is preferred.

The Barista is responsible for serving all products with friendly and individualized attention towards each customer. Barista’s are also responsible for educating customers about our premium coffees and teas. The Barista will fulfill any other duties the Store Manager, Assistant Manager or Shift Supervisor assigns and will represent The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in a professional manner.

Essential Job Functions:

• Sells and serves products to customers in a courteous and friendly manner
• Participates in all sales promotions effectively and efficiently
• Safely handles all hot and cold drinks during drink preparation
• Able to follow standard operating procedure on drink recipes and menu items
• Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner
• Usage of headsets for drive- thru locations for taking orders
• Cash handling on POS system and registers
• Reports all customer complaints to manager on duty
• Responds pro-actively to prevent customer service situations
• Accurately rings sales orders into cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner
• Answers telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including but not limited to giving store greeting, directions to store location, receiving and filling customer orders
• Answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, etc., in a courteous and friendly manner
• Weighs, grinds and packs coffee per customers’ orders according to company guidelines.
• Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers
• Maintains efficient, friendly service standards
• Restocks shelves when necessary
• Routinely cleans the bar area, lobby, bathrooms, floors, windows and grinders, take out trash, etc.
• Assists in the distribution of weekly shipments
• Reports potential safety hazards to the manager on duty
• Reports all employee accidents to the manager on duty
• Informs the manager on duty of any operational inconsistencies
• Perpetuates company philosophy and culture
• Maintains a high level of motivation to ensure quality and consistent product
• Ensures that all customers are educated on our products and services
• Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards
• Follows all company drink recipes and procedures
• Passes monthly re-certifications, in a timely manner
• Visual Presentation
• Assists in maintaining a clean, well-merchandised store
• Assists in following visual presentation plans and standards
• Able to train new baristas
• Maintains positive company morale
• Able to understand and comply with all safety regulations and rules

Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Minimum high diploma or equivalent
• Experience in retail / specialty store or food establishment preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. In some instances, the entire shift
• Intermittent periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Able to lift at least but not limited to 50 pounds and if more must be with assistance
• Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print)
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)
• Ability to move quickly turning from left to right or right to left
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
• Flexibility in the wrist to scoop, twist, push, pull, lift, and bend
