This job entails taking orders for and serving food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner while using suggestive selling techniques. Regularly greet, communicate and converse with all guests. Set up and maintain an attractive, organized, clean, and standardized presentation. Make and serve coffee drinks. Educate and inform customers about the differences among coffee beans, coffee preparation, and home brewing methods. Continuously check food to ensure appearance, temperature, and portions are correct. Be knowledgeable of all menu items. Be prepared to answer any guest questions clearly and concisely. The candidate must also clear and clean tables as they are vacated. Listen and respond to guest requests or concerns. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Two years’ experience as a barista or food server in a full-service restaurant is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to stand and move quickly for 6-8 hours. Ability to lift up to 15 lbs regularly, and trays of up to 30 lbs frequently. Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs occasionally. Good communication skills required. All employees must maintain a professional appearance.
