Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship seeks an RN to develop, promote and coordinate the Bariatric Program. You will work across departments to implement services and ensure care aligns with Mercy's standards, while handling data collection and reporting for program outcomes.

The role emphasizes bedside patient care, budgeting and cross-functional collaboration, with a patient-centered focus in a fast-paced hospital setting. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited RN nursing school.
• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Knowledgeable about bariatric surgery, bariatric care and related needs.
• Experience in program development, operations, budgeting, data collection and report writing preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to hear/read effectively.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, promote and coordinate the Bariatric Program and services.
• Perform duties consistent with Mercy's standards and code of conduct.
• Collaborate with teams and departments to support program growth.
• Maintain data collection, reporting and documentation for program outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for development, promotion and coordination of the Bariatric Program and services at Mercy Hospital. Performs duties consistent with the established stand of practice, the goal of Mercy, and within the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy and the Employee Code of Conduct. Performs related duties as assigned.

Position Details

• Education: Graduated from an accredited RN nursing school.
• Licensure: Current RN in the state of practice.
• Experience: Knowledgeable regarding bariatric surgery, bariatric care and special needs related to the bariatric patient. Skills in program development, operations, presentation and budgeting. Use of the EMR. Chart review/Data collection and report writing experience preferred.
• Certification/Registration: Current Basic Life Support.
• Other: Ability to hear and read effectively.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to navigate effectively in many computer systems.
• Ability to work in a team-focused environment.
• Ability to work in a rapid-paced work environment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to provide quality bedside patient care.
• Preferred Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
• Preferred Experience: Skills in public relations and in development of interdepartmental relationships Experience in data entry, data bases and data registries.
• Preferred Certification/Registration: Certified Bariatric Nurse.
• Preferred Other: Excellent computer skills in development of presentations and reports.
