Job summary

AdventHealth in San Antonio, FL is hiring a registered nurse for a full-time day shift. The role requires bedside care, care planning, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team to deliver holistic patient care.

You will provide patient and family education, maintain documentation, and participate in quality improvement and patient experience initiatives. Florida Level 2 background screening is required for certain positions.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Florida or eligible to obtain
• Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred
• Strong communication and documentation skills required with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and chart review.
• Develop and implement patient care plans with the care team and monitor outcomes.
• Perform nursing duties including IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Advocate for patient safety and rights, ensuring high-quality care at all times.
• Educate patients and families based on learning needs and assess understanding.

Job Description:

• $3,000 Sign On Bonus for Eligible Candidates

• Assesses patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and review of medical records and clinical data.
• Develops and implements patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, observing outcomes in accordance with nursing standards.
• Demonstrates competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Advocates for and protects the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
• Provides patient and family education based on assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.
• Encourages patient engagement in healthcare through motivational interviewing, self-management protocols, and teach-back methodology.
• Delivers relationship-based care, engaging patients in all aspects of care with respect for cultural differences and diversity.
• Delegates tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
• Coordinates and implements group visits for identified high-risk patient populations.
• Aids in the care transition of high-risk patients, including medication reconciliation and coordination of services.
• Contributes to continuous process improvement by actively participating in patient experience and satisfaction initiatives.
