Job summary

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Nebraska or a compact state as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act.
• Minimum of three (3) years Registered Nurse experience.
• One (1) year of experience with patients with obesity preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field required, or actively in pursuit of degree.
• Specialty certification within one year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for bariatric patients across pre/post-management.
• Develop and implement patient care clinical pathways and update policies.
• Serve as clinical liaison and resource for the hospital program; assist with certification/accreditation.
• Identify quality issues and develop a performance improvement plan for the program to assess and improve quality and efficiency.
• Identify indicators to monitor and track patient data, referrals, and outcomes.
• Manage accreditation criteria to ensure the clinic/program meets expectations set by governing agencies.
• Collaborate with physician leadership and staff to promote communication and problem-solving.
• Provide orientation/education for the center and hospital staff, students and others as required.
• Ensure effective staff education and training to achieve performance outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality of PHI and HIPAA compliance.
• Demonstrate teaching methods for multi-level individuals and groups for outcomes and professional development.
• Maintain knowledge of documentation requirements for patient records and computer applications.
