  • Experience leading multidisciplinary environmental teams.
  • Advanced business, leadership, or management training.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the division’s strategic vision.
  • Position the division to pursue and win larger, more complex environmental and programmatic work.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities and expand service offerings.
  • Collaborate with staff and firm leadership on growth initiatives.
  • Lead client development efforts across key markets (energy, DOTs, government, private clients).
  • Serve as a senior relationship manager for key accounts.
  • Actively pursue and secure new work, including leveraging existing client relationships.
  • Contribute to proposals, capture strategies, and large pursuits.
  • Drive contract backlog and revenue growth for the division.
  • Accountable for division performance including revenue and contracts secured.
  • Profitability and project performance.
  • Provide oversight of project delivery to ensure quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
  • Support development of project scopes, fees, and execution strategies.
  • Establish and maintain performance metrics and accountability.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of environmental professionals and leaders.

What We're Looking For

The Environmental Market Leader provides strategic leadership for Barge Design Solutions' Environmental practice by driving market growth, expanding client relationships, and delivering exceptional project performance. This role is responsible for developing and executing market strategies, leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams, and positioning Barge as a trusted environmental consulting partner across public and private sectors.

Serving as both a business leader and technical advisor, the Environmental Market Leader partners with clients to solve complex environmental challenges while fostering innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. This individual is accountable for business development, financial performance, talent development, and the successful delivery of environmental services including natural resources, environmental permitting and compliance, ecological services, remediation, restoration, and environmental planning.

Through visionary leadership, collaboration, and a strong client focus, the Environmental Market Leader will strengthen Barge's market presence, develop strategic growth opportunities, and build a culture of technical excellence that delivers lasting value for our clients, employees, and communities.
