Job Summary:

Performs a variety of barbering services at a main branch or haircare facility for authorized military and civilian personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides barbering services including shampooing, conditioning, cutting, shaping, shaving, and styling to suit clients' preferences.
• Massages neck, face, and scalp; checks for scalp and hair disorders; consults with clients about their hair care needs.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of tools and work station; makes minor repairs on equipment.
• Operates cash register, manages appointments, sells products, and assists with inventory.
• Ensures high customer satisfaction and provides courteous service.
• Works under supervision, exercises tact, and maintains quality of service.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Effort:

Requires continual use of arms and legs, frequent standing, reaching, and light lifting (less than 5 pounds). Dexterity is essential for manual techniques.

Working Conditions:

Performed inside a well-equipped haircare facility, with exposure to cuts, burns, strains, electric shocks, hair cuttings, skin conditions, and communicable diseases. Proper safety measures must be followed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited barber or cosmetology school.
• Valid State License in Barbering or Cosmetology.

Medical Screening:

All employees must be screened for communicable diseases before initial assignment.

Education and License:

Must possess a valid State License in Barbering or Cosmetology. If licensed in another state, must obtain a license in the state of employment within six months.
