Job summary

Maverick Gaming is seeking a Barback to support the bar operations at Wendover Nugget & Red Garter. You will assist bartenders, stock and replenish beverages, and ensure clean and organized bar areas while delivering great guest service.

Must be 21+, able to stand during shifts, and follow all policies. The role includes on-site duties with a focus on beverage cost control and smooth service flow.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist bartender in daily bar operations.
• Receive liquor, beer and wine from storeroom daily.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and organized service areas.
• Replenish liquor, beer and wine as needed.
• Deliver food items from kitchen to customers.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and proper service standards.
• Notify bar manager of shortages and glass supplies.

• Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
• Be responsible for receiving all liquor, beer and wine from storeroom on a daily basis.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bar, refrigerators, and service areas of the bar in an organized manner.
• Replenish all liquor, beer and wine as needed in the bar during the shift.
• Assist in ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the bar and lounge areas.
• Assist with maintaining beverage cost.
• Follow prescribed procedures in serving alcohol with care to avoid any challenges with intoxicated guests.
• Retrieve all food items from kitchen and deliver to customers according to proper service standards.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Notify the bar manager of any shortages.
• Check glass supply at all bars and take clean glasses from the kitchen locations to various bars. If necessary, requisition replacement glasses to fill various bars.
• Check fresh fruit on a daily basis for spoilage and replace when necessary.
• Maintain strict confidence regarding company related matters.
• Comply with company and department policies and procedures.
• Performs related and/or other duties as required.

The Barback is responsible for helping the bartender in the daily operation of the bar. Works between both Wendover Nugget & Red Garter, if needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field required.
• Ability to stand during the entire shift.
• Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Must be knowledgeable of and maintain all internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Be 21 years of age and high school graduate / GED.
• Title 31 Training.
