Tupper and Reed – Barback (Friday and Sunday are required)

Tupper & Reed is a craft cocktail and live music haven nestled in the heart of downtown Berkeley. The gothic-inspired former music store is home to innovative cocktails, an extensive spirits library, and exceptional staff well versed in classic and contemporary libations. If you are eager to learn and looking to play host to the myriad of locals and passersby, the bartender position at Tupper and Reed may be right for you. We are looking for someone with restaurantor bar experience who is interested in learning craft cocktails and who is interested in being part of the Tupper and Reed’s team. Most shifts will be scheduled somewhere between 3pm and 3am.


Responsibilities

  • Assist bartenders with daily service
  • Maintain overall bar cleanliness
  • Prepare batches and other cocktail ingredients
  • Wash and organize glassware
  • Retrieve and keep adequate levels of bar stock
  • Clean as part of opening and closing duties

Qualifications

  • Restaurant or bar experience is a plus
  • Barista experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to follow directions
  • Basic math skills or an ability to use a calculator and understand proportions
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Has or is willing to obtain a CA Food Handler’s Certification and RBS training required
  • 21+ years of age or older
