Job summary

A Dallas bar is seeking a Barback to support bartenders by maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar. Responsibilities include restocking items, performing minor maintenance, and engaging with customers. The ideal candidate must be efficient, possess excellent teamwork and communication skills, and have a valid food handler’s card and TABC certification. This role requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 20 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Must have valid food handler’s card.
• Must have valid TABC certification.
• Meets legal minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Knowledge of bar menu items and basic drink preparation.
• Ability to lift heavy items and work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and closing duties including restocking garnishes, towels, and glassware.
• Maintain inventory of ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing kegs.
• Keep the bar clean by wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash.
• Memorize cocktail recipes and menu items.
• Support bartenders with taking orders and preparing drinks.
• Engage with customers and handle complaints.
• Monitor stock usage and assist in reordering.
