Barback

Position Summary

As a Team Member of the Food and Beverage team, the Barback is a CRCR Ambassador and takes personal ownership to ensure all of their actions are in the best interest of the business. The Barback is responsible for following policies and procedures and meeting business standards and health and safety regulations. Barbacks will assist in Guest Service, processing orders and transactions on point-of-sale systems; additionally, they must retain knowledge of acceptable forms of identification for alcoholic beverage service and will card all Guests who appear to be under the age of 30.

Position Functions

Essential Functions

  • Ensure exceptional Guest service and teamwork.
  • Ensure their bar is kept clean; stock is properly stored, rotated, and unexpired.
  • Check identification of Guests under the age of 30 to prevent underage service.
  • Keep glassware, condiments, and fresh garnishes cut and replenished.
  • Monitor, maintain and properly rotates stock/orders.
  • Promptly carry out duties as needed per Bartenders and management.
  • Change empty beer kegs and soda bibs correctly.
  • Ensure all operational equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot common equipment issues.
  • Empty garbage, glass, and cardboard bins in the designated disposal area.
  • Adhere to business policies and procedures regarding alcohol service and complete all related training programs/certifications.
  • Complete all side work tasks.
  • Communicate professionally with management and involve them in Guest recovery issues immediately.
  • Engage with Guests, providing recommendations and enhancing their experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess or be able to complete RBS training and certification for alcohol service.
  • Must possess or be able to complete ServSafe/Food Handler’s training and certification.
  • Understanding of bar terminology and various types of alcoholic beverages.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and restocking procedures.
  • Proficient in mixology basics to assist bartenders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ Barback experience in a high-volume Bar atmosphere.
  • Prior Guest service experience.
