Oak View Group in Mobile, AL seeks a Barback to support bartenders during events. You will stock, restock, and maintain bar area to ensure smooth service while following all alcohol service policies.

This part-time role pays $14.00/hour and is eligible for tips. The venue, Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center, hosts events requiring dependable attendance and teamwork.

Formación

Position Summary

The Barback is responsible for backing up the bartender by restocking products to ensure the bartender stays fully stocked during events while ensuring all policies and procedures regarding alcohol dispensing are followed. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role pays an hourly rate of $14.00 and is tip eligible.

About The Venue

The Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center is a spectacular facility providing excellent meeting accommodations. It features 317,000 gross sq. ft., including a 100,000 sq. ft. exhibit hall, and a unique design with terraces for outdoor functions and breathtaking views of the Mobile River.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for stocking products for the bar, including N/A beverages, alcoholic beverages, and icing wells.
• Sweeping and mopping the bar as needed.
• Moving kegs in and out of keg coolers and tapping kegs.
• Running supplies for bartenders to back up fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers.
• Assures that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to the start of the event.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar and surrounding areas utilizing sanitation procedures; this includes mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans, and keeping closet areas clear of debris and clutter.
• Responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to make bartenders aware of such individuals.
• Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume bar capacity is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests in a clear, businesslike, and respectful manner, which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
• Possess a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations.
• Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages) as they relate to product inventory.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
