InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is seeking a Bar/Barback to stock beverages and assist the Bartender in serving guests. You will replenish supplies, clean equipment, and help with buffet setups as needed.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Stock and maintain adequate beverage supplies to assist the Bartender in serving customers in a prompt and satisfactory manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Stock bar area with liquor, beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, ice, and supplies by following established procedures. Replenish as needed throughout shift.
• Clean beverage equipment, glasses, and service areas; assist in clearing tables and cleaning work areas.
• Assist Bartender in the preparation of garnishes and mixes.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• May set-up and replenish appetizer or “happy hour” buffet, if applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Basic reading, writing and math skills.

This job requires the ability to perform the following:

• Handling, carrying or pushing items weighing as much as 50 pounds (ice, carts, boxes, bottles, etc)
• Standing and moving about the work areas

Other:

• Communication skills are necessary when interacting with guests and supervisor.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills are used at times.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

What We Offer

The hourly pay for this role is $22.15. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles, California. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
