Ballyhoo Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, hospitality focused Barback to join our thirteenth restaurant and one of many in Glenview.

Jackman’s menu focuses on the cooking traditions and practices associated with the United Kingdom. Encompassing global influences due to England’s strong trading history and its’ historical conquests.

Job Summary:

The Barback is responsible for ensuring that the bar is set and maintained so that the bar staff is equipped to run an effective operation. Duties include restocking coolers and storage areas, filling and replenishing ice bins, maintaining the cleanliness of the bar area, delivering food to bar guests when needed and serving as assistant to the bar. The ideal Barback candidate will be professional, friendly, and will strive to meet the highest standards of quality customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcome all guests and ensure guests receive responsive, professional, and gracious
  • service always.
  • Communicate with wait and bar staff to always ensure the wants and needs of guests
  • are fulfilled.
  • Buss bar, maintain clean bar top, refill waters, provide guests with appropriate
  • silverware.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area.
  • Prep, stock, and organize all produce and beverages in the bar area including alcohol,juices, N/A, mixers, etc.
  • Polish glass and silverware.
  • Perform set up duties as requested to include side stations, storage areas and food staging areas.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment all times in the Bar and all beverage service stations.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks and adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Clean unexpected spills and execute special guest requests.
  • Perform all side work applicable to the assigned station

  • Move and clean quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Friendly, polite, and courteous to all guests
  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
  • Works efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holida
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • One or more years of Barback experience is preferred.
  • Maintain a BASSET and ServeSafe Certification.
