Job summary

HHM Hotels in Bloomington, IN is seeking a Barback to support bar operations within the hotel, ensuring guest service and sustainability standards are met.

You will greet guests, retrieve orders, stock and prep garnishes, maintain bar cleanliness, assist bartenders, monitor supplies, and follow safety and MSDS/OSHA guidelines while contributing to HHM’s EarthView program. This role also requires standing for extended periods and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Customer service experience or restaurant experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge guests when performing barback related functions.
• Retrieve orders from storeroom and check stock against requisition with storeroom personnel.
• Inspect items with bartender for completeness at bar delivery.
• Cut, slice and peel garnishes and fruits; prepare juices in required quantities.
• Maintain adequate supplies for bar and service area; manage napkins, stir sticks, etc.
• Keep bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration and storage clean per health codes.
• Scoop ice and replenish containers for service areas.
• Box and save empty liquor bottles for returns and requisitions.
• Transport and replace taps; perform routine maintenance on beer kegs.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and EarthView program; observe MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
