Job description

Conrad Indianapolis is looking for a Busser / Barback to join the Food and Beverage Team! This is an amazing opportunity to grow your career in a Fortune 500 company within a sophisticated luxury brand.

As the city's first true luxury hotel and only Forbes recommended hotel in the state, this 23-story tower has 241 rooms, 15,000 square feet of banquet space, and 3 food and beverage outlets. This includes The Capital Grille, Tastings - Wine Bar & Bistro, and in-room dining.

Classification: Part-Time

Shift: PM Shift, primarily Thursday to Saturday– must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Rate: $12 per hour plus tips plus part-time benefits.

What will I be doing?

A Barback is responsible for preparing and servicing the Conrad Indianapolis Lounge and setting and clearing tables. The Barback will stock all service stations and assist food servers with table service in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

1. Retrieve orders from storeroom, visually check stock and reconcile with written requisitions to ensure order accuracy and re-check stock upon delivery.
2. Assist Bartenders when needed by cutting, slicing and peeling perishable garnishes and fruits, mixing and pouring juices and storing back-up supplies in prescribed containers.
3. Check with and assist the bartender to stock and maintain the bar to include, but not limited to, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.
4. Transport taps and replace and perform routine maintenance on beer kegs.
5. Maintain cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigerators and storage areas in accordance with federal, state, local and company codes.
6. Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all serviceware as prescribed.
7. Transport all dirty tableware from dining area to dishwashing for proper cleaning.
