Job summary

Zuma San Diego is seeking a Barback to support the bar team and help ensure smooth service. You will stock supplies, prepare garnishes, and maintain cleanliness to deliver exceptional guest experiences at our premier Japanese restaurant location in San Diego.

Compensation is $19.00 per hour plus tips. Join a dynamic team at Zuma San Diego and participate in events and opportunities across our brand. This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders in setting up and breaking down the bar area before and after service.

• Prepare garnishes such as citrus wedges, olives, and herbs.
• Monitor ice supply and ensure bins and machines function properly.
• Support bartenders during service by fetching items, clearing glassware, and meeting guest requests.

Job description

As a Zuma Barback, you are responsible for supporting the bar team to ensure the smooth operation of our bar service. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with various tasks behind the bar, including stocking supplies, preparing garnishes, and maintaining cleanliness, to help deliver exceptional service and create memorable experiences for our guests.

Thecompensation is$19.00 per hour plus tips.

Main Duties

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist bartenders in setting up and breaking down the bar area before and after service, including arranging bottles, glassware, and bar tools, and ensuring that all necessary supplies are readily available
• Stock and replenish bar inventory, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and other supplies, to ensure that bartenders have everything they need to prepare drinks efficiently and accurately
• Prepare garnishes, such as citrus wedges, olives, and herbs, according to established recipes and standards, ensuring that they are fresh, attractive, and ready for use during service
• Monitor and manage the supply of ice, ensuring that ice bins are filled and ice machines are functioning properly, to support the efficient preparation and service of drinks
• Provide support to bartenders during service, including fetching and carrying items, clearing empty glasses and bottles, and assisting with guest requests, to help ensure smooth and efficient operations
