Job summary

Rod ‘N’ Reel, Inc. is seeking a Barback to support bartenders by stocking supplies, preparing garnishes, and maintaining a clean, efficient bar area. You will work closely with front and back of house teams to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.

The role requires basic English, the ability to work under pressure, and a dependable work ethic in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Keep bar stocked with liquor, syrups, glasses, napkins, and supplies.
• Prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, change kegs, restock napkins and straws.
• Clean spills, remove glassware, and organize bar spaces.
• Coordinate with front and back of house to ensure efficient service.
• Handle emergencies and move inventory as needed; perform additional duties.

The Barback is responsible for assisting Bartenders to ensure they have everything they need to serve customers efficiently. Their duties include replacing kegs, restocking glasses and other supplies, maintaining a clean dining space throughout their shift.

Key Accountabilities

• Adherence to and successful execution of all standards, procedures and protocols described in the Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort Team Member Handbook and Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort Service Training Manual.
• Compliance with company rules and regulations without exception. Always handle yourself in an ethical and professional manner.
• Arrive at work on time and in proper attire. Absences and tardiness should be rare and always communicated to management as per the handbook policy.
• Adhere to company uniform, grooming and appearance standards.
• Take excellent care of all guests (internal & external), without exception. This includes assessing the needs of each guest you encounter, assuring the quality of our products and services and evaluating guest satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain a constructive and cooperative working relationship with your teammates and managers, both in the Front and Back of House.
• Help to build and maintain a team-oriented environment in the workplace by bringing a consistent work ethic and participation level to every shift.
• Adhere to directives and complete requested tasks made by managers.
• Pick up shifts for others in your department when possible if the need arises.
• Consistently assist your teammates with their own responsibilities anytime they are busy and you are not.

Responsibilities

• Keep the bar stocked with liquor, syrups, glasses, napkins, and all other necessary items before and during operational hours.
• Prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, change beer kegs, and restock napkins and straws.
• Clean any spills, remove glassware, and organize bar working spaces, keeping the bar areas neat and clean.
• Coordinate and work with team members, front and back of house, to ensure efficient service is provided to all guests.
• Handle emergency situations that may arise, like broken glass and clearing any drains.
• Moving and transporting inventory from one location to another, to include kegs, cases of beer, waters, and sodas.
• May be required to perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED are preferred but not required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment is preferred but not required. Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English. Must be able to work well under pressure and be self-motivated. Understanding of health and safety requirements in a restaurant. Good communication skills—both written and verbal. Must be dependable, reliable and be driven with minimal supervision. Must possess a high level of awareness, attention to detail and follow-through. Must be both effective and efficient at multi-tasking in pressure situations.
