Cork & Craft – Bar Back / Beverage Support
Position Overview
The Bar Back at Cork & Craft plays an essential role in ensuring the bar runs efficiently, cleanly, and fully stocked throughout service. Working side‑by‑side with the bartenders, the Bar Back supports beverage preparation, organization, and guest service — maintaining the quality, pace, and presentation standards that define Cork & Craft. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and takes pride in keeping the bar area organized, well‑stocked, and ready for every pour.
Key Responsibilities
Bar Support & Organization
- Stock and restock beer, wine, spirits, mixers, and garnishes throughout service.
- Maintain clean and organized bar areas, back bar shelves, and prep stations.
- Ensure bar tools, glassware, and equipment are clean, polished, and readily available.
- Refill ice bins, replace empty kegs, and rotate stock to maintain freshness.
- Assist bartenders in preparing ingredients, batching cocktails, and setting up for service.
Guest Experience & Teamwork
- Support bartenders in delivering timely and accurate drinks to guests and servers.
- Communicate clearly with servers and bar staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Anticipate needs during peak hours and stay ahead of restocking and cleanup.
- Uphold Cork & Craft’s standard of hospitality by maintaining a polished, professional demeanor.
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Wash, dry, and organize glassware continuously throughout service.
- Wipe down bar surfaces, prep areas, and sinks to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Empty trash and recycling as needed and assist with end‑of‑night breakdown.
- Follow closing checklists to ensure the bar is ready for the next shift.
Inventory & Quality Control
- Report low‑stock or missing inventory items promptly to the bar manager.
- Help with weekly inventory counts and deliveries when required.
- Ensure proper labeling and rotation of all bar products.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to lift up to 50 lbs (kegs, cases, ice bins).
- Basic knowledge of common spirits, wines, and cocktails a plus.
- Must have or obtain a valid food handler’s and liquor service certification (where applicable).
