Job description

Living Room | Los Angeles, CA - Relocation assistance may be considered for an exceptional candidate residing outside the immediate area.
Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 / year
Estimated Start: January 2027
Opening February 2027
Living Room is seeking an exceptional Bar Manager to help develop and lead an exciting new, high-end cocktail concept opening in February 2027.

This is a rare opportunity to join an established hospitality company with an exceptional culture, competitive compensation, and the resources to create something truly special.

Working directly with Living Room's senior leadership team and key Food & Beverage stakeholders, the Bar Manager will play an integral role in shaping the concept, beverage program, product selection, service standards, and overall guest experience.

This position offers meaningful creative and operational autonomy. We're looking for a confident, self-directed leader who thrives when entrusted with responsibility, exercises sound independent judgment, and takes genuine ownership of their work. The successful candidate will have the freedom to develop ideas, make decisions, and lead their team, supported by an experienced and collaborative leadership group.

The Opportunity
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key F&B stakeholders throughout the creative development and opening of a new cocktail destination.
  • Lead the development of a thoughtful, ambitious cocktail program, drawing inspiration from seasonal ingredients, innovative techniques, and the property's onsite farm.
  • Help curate an exceptional spirits collection, with particular attention to luxury, rare, and highly allocated expressions.
  • Bring the stories behind exceptional spirits to life, engaging guests through knowledge, genuine enthusiasm, and a sophisticated approach to sales.
  • Exercise meaningful independence in managing the bar, developing programming, and driving operational excellence.
  • Recruit, train, and inspire a team of exceptional hospitality professionals.
  • Establish and maintain uncompromising standards of service, execution, and attention to detail.
  • Oversee daily operations, financial performance, inventory, and beverage cost management.
  • Join a collaborative, well-resourced organization that values creativity, individual initiative, professionalism, and long-term growth.
A Hands-On Leadership Role

Once open, this is a highly visible, service-driven position that lives at the heart of the guest experience.

The Bar Manager will move fluidly between preparing cocktails behind the bar, engaging with guests throughout the room, supporting the service team, and overseeing operations as the evening unfolds.

We're looking for someone who leads by example, is genuinely energized by being on the floor, and understands that exceptional hospitality requires both personal engagement and an eye for the entire operation.

The anticipated regular service schedule is Tuesday through Friday, approximately 6:00-3:00 AM. Candidates should be comfortable with a consistent late-night schedule and enthusiastic about being an active presence throughout service.

Who We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate has substantial experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or highly regarded cocktail bars where exceptional service is as important as the quality of the drinks.

We value:

  • A genuine passion for craft cocktail development, with the curiosity and creativity to explore new ingredients, techniques, and flavor combinations.
  • A sophisticated understanding of spirits, including an appreciation for luxury, rare, and allocated bottlings.
  • The ability to translate spirits knowledge into compelling guest experiences and sales through engaging, authentic storytelling.
  • Demonstrated experience executing elevated, detail-oriented hospitality.
  • A proven ability to work independently, make thoughtful decisions, and take full ownership of a program.
  • Strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for mentoring and developing teams.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the confidence to move initiatives forward without constant supervision.
  • The ability to transition naturally between bartending, guest relations, and operational leadership during busy service.
  • Creativity balanced with operational discipline and commercial awareness.
  • Confidence, discretion, humility, and a collaborative approach to hospitality.

Industry accolades and national recognition are certainly welcome, but they are not prerequisites. We are far more interested in the quality of your work, the teams you've built, and the experiences you've created for your guests.

A Different Kind of Opportunity

Living Room operates with a philosophy of discretion. Our venues and the individuals behind them do not seek or participate in traditional media coverage or personal publicity.

This is an important part of our culture.

We're looking for someone who finds fulfillment in creating extraordinary experiences rather than receiving public recognition for them. Someone who understands that the most meaningful measure of success is the loyalty of our guests, the strength of our team, and the quality of the hospitality we deliver every night.

Why Living Room?

An outstanding company culture, highly competitive compensation, an experienced and collaborative leadership team, and the opportunity to have a meaningful creative influence on an entirely new cocktail concept.

From access to an onsite farm to the opportunity to work with exceptional spirits and a sophisticated clientele, this is an environment designed to reward curiosity, creativity, and an uncompromising commitment to hospitality.

You'll be given the trust, autonomy, and resources to lead with confidence, backed by a company that values initiative and empowers talented people to do their best work.
