Job summary

Brass Jar Productions in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Bar Manager with strong cocktail bartending and high-volume service background. The role may mix Bar Manager duties with bartending shifts, and requires leadership of Front of House and bar operations to ensure guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in bartending, prior FOH supervisory experience, and familiarity with inventory, ordering, staff scheduling, and training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in cocktail bartending or high-volume bar service.
• Preferred: lead bartender, Bar Manager, or Front of House supervisor.
• Experience with inventory, ordering, staff scheduling, and training.
• Food Handler Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the Front of House staff’s daily duties and the operation of all Front of House activities.
• Creating the Front of House schedule.
• Maintaining the bar, including ordering ingredients and replacing broken glassware.
• Coaching and training bar staff.
• Applying consistent practices to prevent patrons from being overserved.
• Assisting with security and following federal, state, and local laws regarding food and liquor service.

Job Description This position is covered by Brass Jar Productions’ collective bargaining agreement with Actors’ Equity Association.

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in cocktail bartending or high-volume bar service.

Theatre and box office experience are a bonus but not required.

We can train the right person on our production and systems, but this is not an entry-level bartending position.

We value friendly, hardworking multitaskers who place the guest experience above all else.

The Bar Manager must hold all relevant qualifications required by local, state, and federal health and liquor authorities.

The schedule may include both Bar Manager hours and hours scheduled solely for bartending.

Compensation
