Job summary

PUBLIC is hiring a Bar Lead in West Hollywood, CA to deliver exceptional guest service and lead beverage service. The role involves preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, maintaining extensive product knowledge, and ensuring bar readiness and compliance.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Bar Lead is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with PUBLIC’s standards. This role requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming and engaging bar experience while maintaining efficiency and compliance with all regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Be an ambassador for PUBLIC by meeting and exceeding PUBLIC core objectives and values.
  • Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, professional, and engaging service.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all menu offerings, including cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits.
  • Provide recommendations and upsell beverages to enhance the guest experience.
  • Ensure bar setup is fully stocked, organized, and ready for service.
  • Oversee the preparation of all recipes to ensure consistency, quality and operational readiness.
  • Create and maintain bar prep recipe development.
  • Create and maintain bar prep SOPs.
  • Oversight of the Cocktail Guide and Spec sheet for operational use.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, tools, and equipment at all times.
  • Monitor guest consumption and adhere to responsible alcohol service standards.
  • Process transactions accurately using POS systems and follow all cash handling procedures.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including inventory checks, restocking, and cleaning.
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and provide lateral service to support overall operations.
  • Follow direction from supervisors and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of state and local alcohol laws
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, spirits, wine, and beer.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
